Charism:
Charism is not easy to define. I offer this as a simple definition: charism is a gift from God for the church and the world, given as different ways of living out the Gospel. [Sr. Annie Klapheke, SC, Archdiocese of Cincinnati]
First time I’ve seen that one. Noted in The Weekly Dish’s LoC (Letters of Comment, old and probably obsolete terminology) column. For younger readers unfamiliar with the concept, Andrew Sullivan interacts with readers in the old-fashioned manner. The question regards how to be a Catholic as a gay man.
With grace. That’s the short answer. The long answer is partly what the book will try to explain. I regard my sexual orientation less as a burden than as a charism. How I got to that place is the dynamic of the book.
