I gotta say the roiling concerning the President’s recently being transported from Turkey to the UK in a plane other than Air Force One, and secretly at that, strikes me as a trifle artificial. After all, the President is the President, and the occasional subterfuge to keep him safe from attempts by national adversaries to assassinate him doesn’t strike me as a terrible crime.
Not like sending goons in ICE uniforms to Minnesota to try to spread terror.
Or continuing his lifelong grifting ways.
Or endangering NATO.
It feels more like his protectors did something unusual, but not criminal, and the critics had a freakout.
Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe it was a terrible crime. But no one’s made an intelligent argument affirming that position, yet, on the matter.
