Paramount Skydance said Friday that it had agreed to halt its merger with fellow Hollywood heavyweight Warner Bros. until as late as July 2027, citing a federal antitrust lawsuit brought by 12 Democratic states that had won a brief pause this week.
The company and the states said together in a court filing Friday that they had agreed to suspend the merger while the lawsuit unfolds. Paramount is separately facing a challenge from the Writers Guild of America, which represents many screenwriters and journalists, as well as a group of consumers in Northern California. [WaPo]
