A Peek Is Coming, Ctd

And this, the acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, is the subject that keeps on giving. Here I thought the acquisition was approved and paid for and inevitable andno, maybe it is not.

A group of 12 states led by Democratic attorneys general on Monday sued to block Paramount Skydance’s $110 billion deal to buy Warner Bros. Discovery, the sharpest challenge to one of the biggest media and entertainment mergers in history. …

The lawsuit, whose plaintiffs include California Attorney General Rob Bonta and New York Attorney General Letitia James, was filed in federal district court in Northern California on Monday. The states allege that the deal violates federal antitrust law, specifically Section 7 of the Clayton Antitrust Act, which prohibits mergers that reduce competition and create monopolies.

This thread may morph into a moral lesson in If you only but try … which is a theme running through opposition to the Trump Administration. A prime example is Big Law, in which some huge law firms rolled over when Trump sued them, and some didn’t. The former have found that appeasing a bully engenders bullying; the latter are surprisingly undefeated in court.

Trump’s unflagging habit of hiring crap attorneys is on full display.

As I run across more news on this subject I’ll post it.
