The Sheep Detectives (2026), as a title, is a little too painfully on the nose, honestly, for this story. The herd’s shepherd is dead, the sheep are in a tumult, and to ask a sheep to understand human society well enough to solve a moderately twisted crime just seems too unlikely.
Not that the story is uninteresting, or the acting inferior, or it all lacks a sense of humor. All of those elements are present. But there is a strain on the sense of credulity necessary to accept a story of this sort.
It may help to think of Chicken Run (2000), which faces similar straits and manages to pass through them. Does The Sheep Detectives? It may all depend on how tightly bound you are to the Earth.
