My Arts Editor and I occasionally watch clothing designer shows together, but this was something else. It left me gaping.

I don’t know anything about the fashion world, but it appears Robert Wun treats the designer shows more like a moving art installation than something that looks, at least superficially, like clothing. It is slightly reminiscent of the late Lee Alexander McQueen’s work, with which I’m familiar only because of the documentary McQueen (2018): the telling of a story as a designer show.

This Robert Wun show was delightful.

A bridal dress show, punctuated by my Arts Editor’s exclamations of Oh, exquisite! and Western bridal dresses have nothing on this! She is a former master tailor who ran a bridal shop, so I pay attention.

In case you think there’s an economic case for electing Trump president, here’s former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich (Clinton Administration) with a rebuttal. I haven’t verified his numbers, but what he has to say is congruent with many other analyses I’ve read.

I’ve long read references to the Mayan ball game, in which the ball can only contact the hips. Here, the BBC has a short clip covering a Mayan group that has recreated the game of their ancestors. Quite fun!

And I liked the body art as well.

In other news, for the last three weeks I’ve been dealing with an infection which appears to be defeated now. I hope to return to regular, though not prolific, posting.
