This bit of stupidity caused heartburn in the intelligence community:
Shrinking the intelligence agencies: The White House ordered the C.I.A. to send an unclassified email listing employees hired in the past two years, part of the Elon Musk-led effort to drastically slash the federal work force. The C.I.A., as well as the National Security Agency, began offering employees the option to stop working, then resign effective Sept. 30. The nation’s largest federation of unions started a campaign to push back against attempts to cut jobs. [The New York Times]
