The <a title=\"Trademark\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Trademark\">trademarked<\/a> name is a contracted form of the <a title=\"Latin\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Latin\">Latin<\/a> word <i><a class=\"extiw\" title=\"wikt:pabulum\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/pabulum\">pabulum<\/a><\/i>, which means &#8220;foodstuff&#8221;. The name had long been used in botany and medicine to refer to <a title=\"Nutrition\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nutrition\">nutrition<\/a> or substances of which the nutritive elements are passively absorbed.<\/p>\n<p>The word can also refer to something that is bland, mushy, unappetizing, or infantile.
