Because, of course, it has to be: President Trump doesn’t make many mistakes. Oh, he may rate his communication skills a C<\/a> (a source I select with dry humor), but really, he runs a class operation. Really.<\/p>\n

So, therefore, there must be a wiretap to explain all these leaks, as CNN<\/strong><\/em> reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This goes along with his comments on the recent DNC<\/strong><\/em> chairman election, as reported<\/a> by WCCO<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n

President Donald Trump was up early Sunday morning on Twitter, calling the election<\/span><\/span> of the new chair of the Democratic National Committee \u201crigged.\u201d<\/p>\n

President<\/span><\/span> Trump tweeted \u201cThe race for the DNC Chairman was of course, totally rigged.\u00a0 Bernie\u2019s guy, like Bernie himself, never had a chance. Clinton demanded Perez!\u201d<\/p>\n

The President\u2019s tweet really strikes a chord with those people who think the cards were stacked against Bernie Sanders in the first place.\u00a0 That\u2019s why Congressman Keith Ellison had been campaigning for the job.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Trump knows what Ellison didn’t know, despite Ellison’s privileged position? Truly, the most entertaining part of this particular Trump debacle is to guess what he would have said if Ellison had won<\/em>. It’s a little harder to see how the Progressives would have had the ability to rig it, so maybe they would have bought it. Or perhaps he’d just suggest they’re a bunch of losers.<\/p>\n

Yeah, this guy hasn’t the least clue on how to be Presidential. He’s already lost one attack dog, General Flynn, and now a second attack dog, Attorney General Sessions, appears to be teetering on the edge of the abyss of failure to lie convincingly<\/em>. And, I know I’ve called for more empathy and cordiality, a bridge over the abyss, if you will, but Trump is definitely makes it difficult to apply this precept.<\/p>\n

But, so long as his base is dedicated to naivete, to not checking facts, this will continue, because it stirs up a base that he desperately needs. Will they even pick up on this tidbit from the CNN report?<\/p>\n

Former Obama deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes tweeted in response that presidents can’t order wiretapping.<\/p>\n

“No President can order a wiretap. Those restrictions were put in place to protect citizens from people like you,” he said in his Twitter post.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Prediction: in 2-3 days this will be forgotten and out of the press. Trump will find some other bitter thing to say concerning the Sessions lies, or more leaks, and on we’ll go while the GOP<\/strong><\/em>-controlled Congress does little more than chase after inferior health plans<\/a>.<\/p>\n
