A friend sent me this animated map<\/a> by Metrocosm<\/a><\/strong><\/em> of immigration to America over the centuries. Here’s a snapshot:<\/p>\n

Fascinating data viewer, which I’ve only looked at briefly. They appear to have some other animated maps, which I have not yet examined.<\/p>\n

But what I want to know is, why are all the immigrants going to Omaha? More seriously, they could have shown the most popular ports of entry for each year, although I suppose that would been New York and Los Angeles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
