Crullers have been described as resembling &#8220;a small, braided torpedo&#8221;<sup id=\"cite_ref-Twisted_1-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cruller#cite_note-Twisted-1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup> and having been &#8220;a staple of the New England diet since the Pilgrims&#8217; day&#8221;.
