When All the World Is Grey\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n
When all the world\u2019s comprised of shades of grey
\nyou learn to see the beauty in the differing tones;
\nthe infinite variety of muted hue and subtle shadow,
\nthe cleverness of light against dark,
\nand myriad shadings in-between.<\/p>\nWhen the earth is the grey of a winter sky,
\nyou\u2019re compelled to see the charm in a cozy room.
\nCloud-washed walls reflect the dappled light of a leaden landscape,
\nas blue-white snow blankets ashy, bare-branched trees
\nthat grow like gateposts beside a black ribbon of highway
\nstretching to the horizon.<\/p>\nWhen the sky holds the grey of a summer rain,
\nyou\u2019re allowed to feel the healing
\nof nature\u2019s softly falling tears;
\ntears warm and wet, washing clean the dirt and sorrow and regret
\nof a thousand missed opportunities, a hundred misunderstandings,
\nand a world full of misapprehension and fear.<\/p>\nWhen all the world is grey,
\nyou begin to see the color living deep within the tones;
\nthe subtle blues of steel and smoke,
\nthe effervescence of opal, pearl and nacreous shell,
\nthe hard-edged spark of silver,
\nand the warmth of dusty lilac, mauve and taupe.<\/p>\nWhen all the world is grey.<\/p>\n
