Journey to the Seventh Planet<\/a>\u00a0<\/b><\/i><\/b>(1962) has some mildly interesting ideas in special effects, particularly in\u00a0the representation of star fields – although my Arts Editor just shook her head. And some of the color selections were sort of fun.<\/p>\n

Otherwise, science that ranged from “yeah, sort of” to “NO!”, a limp story where the characters’ actions are unbelievable, dialog of dubious quality, virtually indistinguishable characters, and barely acceptable acting. And a sneaking suspicion of misogyny, given how the ladies were cast.<\/p>\n

This one’s awful. I only finished it out of morbid curiosity. Don’t waste your time, the good guys eventually win. Whoever they were.<\/p>\n

Postscript<\/em>: I see the Wikipedia<\/em><\/strong> page references the trailer on YouTube<\/strong><\/em>, which I will reference with no recommendation.\u00a0However, I did note that, puzzlingly, at some point it flashes the phrase “Your Eyes Will Glaze!<\/em>“, to which I nearly joyfully shouted, “Over!<\/strong><\/em>“, but decided not to alarm the neighborhood. The Wikipedia<\/strong><\/em> page also has some faint praise for the concepts of the movie.<\/p>\n

I still think it’s bad.<\/p>\n
