But the idea had occurred to me some time ago. What does that say about me?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Another:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Just a few weeks ago, Michael said Trump was going to win.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>My oh my. Covering all the bases, eh? And another reader replies:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Why are the two ideas mutually exclusive? It is entirely possible that Trump could win despite not wanting to.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Which just about makes my head explode. While another disagrees with Mr. Moore:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I&#8217;m in agreement with Moore that Trump absolutely does not want to be labeled as the loser, but I disagree in that I think Trump actually does want the position.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So there&#8217;s news today out of Camp Trump &#8211; a shakeup. Is it just more maneuvering to keep the supporters happy, or does Mr. Trump really believe bringing in a co-founder of Breitbart will help? Many sources, Steve Benen on <em><strong>Maddowblog<\/strong><\/em> is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/rachel-maddow-show\/what-expect-the-new-team-trump\" target=\"_blank\">convenient<\/a> and has a neat tidbit:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For the third time in five months, Donald Trump has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/rachel-maddow-show\/trump-campaign-undergoes-another-major-staff-shake\">overhauled<\/a>\u00a0his presidential campaign\u2019s leadership team. As of this morning, Kellyanne Conway is now the Republican candidate\u2019s campaign manager \u2013 a post that was apparently vacant since June \u2013 and Stephen Bannon, of Breitbart News notoriety, is Trump\u2019s campaign CEO. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>GOP consultant Rick Wilson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/post-politics\/wp\/2016\/08\/17\/trump-reshuffles-staff-in-his-own-image\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">told<\/a> the <em>Washington Post<\/em>, \u201cIf you were looking for a tone or pivot, Bannon will pivot you in a dark, racist and divisive direction. It\u2019ll be a nationalist, hateful campaign. Republicans should run away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For more background info on Trump\u2019s new top aides, Bloomberg Politics published an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/politics\/graphics\/2015-steve-bannon\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">interesting profile<\/a> on Bannon last fall \u2013 it described him as \u201cthe most dangerous political operative in America\u201d \u2013 while Media Matters has published overviews <a href=\"http:\/\/mediamatters.org\/blog\/2016\/08\/17\/what-you-need-know-about-trump-campaign-s-new-chief-executive-and-his-bigoted-website\/212456\" rel=\"nofollow\">of Breitbart News<\/a> and Kellyanne Conway\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/mediamatters.org\/research\/2016\/08\/17\/media-meet-donald-trump-s-new-campaign-manager-kellyanne-conway\/212458\" rel=\"nofollow\">controversial record<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>From the <em><strong>Bloomberg Politics<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0report cited by Steve:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Bannon is the executive chairman of Breitbart News, the crusading right-wing populist website that\u2019s a lineal descendant of the Drudge Report (its late founder, Andrew Breitbart, spent years apprenticing with Matt Drudge) and a haven for people who think Fox News is too polite and restrained.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There&#8217;ll be no shortage of entertaining news for a few weeks.
