A Stranger In Town<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (1943) is a hidden identity film, but only from the other characters in the story. A duck-hunter arrives in a small town, looking to relax and take some ducks for dinners. He finds a town government stricken with corruption, and opposed by a lawyer sans<\/em> confidence. The balance of the story is how to inject confidence into the lawyer and put a metaphorical banana peel into said government.<\/p>\n

It has its moments, although it’s too bad the audience is in on the secret. It’s well-acted and a bit of fun; if you’re looking to see something from the era of World War II, you could do worse. No doubt a film from the movie assembly line, don’t let that deter you; Casablanca<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (1942) was also B-list. Not that A Stranger In Town<\/strong><\/em> is a Casablanca<\/strong><\/em>; but it does have its points of interest.<\/p>\n
