But there is no evidence [President Trump] is invested in the Republican Party\u2019s success, only his own. Those interests overlapped in 2016 and in 2024. They do not overlap now, and a party whose leader is optimizing for something other than its survival had better have a message of its own.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"\"<\/a>Well, yes. I think that’s been obvious for years. But Erickson is not alone, a lot of folks keep trying to interpret President Trump through a prism from decades<\/em> ago. In order to understand and predict what comes next with President Trump, one first must accept the proposition that the President is mentally ill, pathologically narcissistic<\/em> to quote a friend, and taking that first step when one’s Party nominated and elected him is tough on the old ego – it was incredibly bad judgment of, admittedly, an actor, by a lot of Republicans. It’s enough to make one question their judgment.<\/p>\n

My guess for what is coming is the complete melt-down of the Republicans in this and the next elections. As Trump flies away on Trump One<\/em> in January 2029, he’ll send his resignation letter to the Republicans, announce same on whatever social media platform he’s using at the time, and then a letter to the American people claiming he deliberately<\/em> set fire to the Republican Party to show himself as a Great American, and, by the way, he’s now joining the Democrats as their Party Leader.<\/p>\n

Quite possibly the Democrats will then also meltdown.<\/p>\n
