I could cite <em>Trump&#8217;s War<\/em> and how it&#8217;s sucking in various players, or the <a href=\"https:\/\/gulfnews.com\/world\/mena\/when-the-worlds-arteries-close-from-suezs-8-year-shutdown-to-the-shadow-blockade-of-hormuz-1.500491097\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">threats<\/a> to the nearby and critical <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Suez_Canal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Suez Canal<\/strong><\/a>, or we could move on to an economy that is so worrying the Federal Reserve that at their recent quarterly meeting, the leaders of the various Banks leaders didn&#8217;t even consider reducing interest rates, as demanded by President Trump, but held them steady while reporting some of the leaders <em>recommended<\/em> a rate increase. Or we could talk about his various distractions, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2026\/07\/28\/trump-set-unveil-dulles-makeover-after-months-personal-edits\/?utm_campaign=&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=newsletter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">such as redesigning <em><strong>Dulles Airport<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, or the Qatari-gifted airliner that needs <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.com\/Politics\/new-air-force-jet-maxed-trump-after-security\/story?id=134909028\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">upgrading<\/a>, or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/health\/2026\/07\/29\/trump-administration-is-ending-medicare-drug-subsidy-will-premiums-rise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Medicare subsidy cancellation<\/a>, &#8230; so many other problems.<\/p>\n<p>But let&#8217;s go with a <a href=\"https:\/\/poll.qu.edu\/poll-release?releaseid=3964\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">poll<\/a> from highly respected <em><strong>Quinnipiac University<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Thirty-two percent of voters approve of the way Donald Trump is handling his job as president, while 58 percent disapprove, with 10 percent not offering an opinion.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&#8217;s 32 percent approval is an all-time low approval rating for him in a Quinnipiac University poll.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This may be especially hurtful to the <em><strong>GOP<\/strong><\/em> Senators &#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Twenty-nine percent of voters think Donald Trump is focused enough on addressing the problems most Americans are facing, while 68 percent think he is not focused enough on addressing the problems most Americans are facing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>By the time the November elections comes around, voters may be asking why the <strong>GOP<\/strong> caucus in Congress did not remove the President as soon as problems appeared. And vote accordingly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HERE&#8217;S THAT CAVE WHERE YOU LEFT YOUR TOY MONSTERS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2026\/07\/28\/the-2026-senate-campaign-updates-29\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">They said that was from last week and they don&#8217;t want them.<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remember the recent action in <a href=\"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2026\/07\/23\/the-2026-senate-campaign-updates-28\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nebraska<\/a> wherein Democratic nominee Cindy Burbank declared she couldn&#8217;t beat incumbent Senator Ricketts (R) and withdrew in favor of Dan Osborn (I)? <strong>It&#8217;s happening again in <a href=\"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2026\/06\/15\/the-2026-senate-campaign-updates-20\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Idaho<\/a><\/strong>:<br \/>\n<blockquote><p>The Democratic candidate who hoped to unseat U.S. Sen. Some parts of the country are hungry to kick out old politicians, and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jim_Risch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Senator Risch<\/a> (R) is 83. <a href=\"https:\/\/data.ddhq.io\/polls\/2026\/03\/21\/Public-Policy-Polling-Idaho\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Public Policy Polling<\/strong><\/em> (<em><strong>PPP<\/strong><\/em>) thinks he could be ejected<\/a>. Me? The information at <em><strong>PPP<\/strong><\/em> struck me as a trifle fantastical and speculative. Show me a poll from a highly-rated pollster.<\/li>\n<li>Troy Jackson, the Democratic nominee for the Senate seat currently held by <a href=\"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2026\/07\/28\/the-2026-senate-campaign-updates-29\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maine<\/a> Senator Collins (R-ME) is up for grabs:<br \/>\n<blockquote><p>Jackson said Maine voters do not think the federal government is working for them and are looking for a change. \u201cThere\u2019s an energy like I\u2019ve never seen of people that are frustrated. They\u2019re fed up,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can have much better government than we have right now, and people in Maine are going to show up in November, and Susan Collins is in trouble,\u201d he added.<em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ms.now\/news\/maine-troy-jackson-senate-race-susan-collins-congress-midterms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>MS NOW<\/strong><\/a>]<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>But Mainers know Senator Collins. Certain of her votes in the Senate have certainly been unpopular, but the mark of a good politician is the ability to turn what looks unpopular into a badge of honor. In today&#8217;s polarized climate, however, that feat is more difficult to accomplish than in previous decades. And Maine is &#8230; <em>the nation&#8217;s oldest state<\/em>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/library\/stories\/2025\/06\/young-old-counties.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according<\/a> to <em><strong>Census.gov<\/strong><\/em>. That may work against Jackson.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2026\/06\/01\/the-2026-senate-campaign-updates-22\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">North Carolina&#8217;s<\/a> getting a bit of love in this issue of <strong>Campaign Update<\/strong> as the national <strong>GOP<\/strong> tries to claw back the Senator Tillis (R) seat, which former Governor Cooper (D-NC) currently has in a headlock:<br \/>\n<blockquote><p>The Senate\u2019s top GOP super PAC is launching a $17 million summer ad campaign in North Carolina \u2014 its largest reservation anywhere in the country so far this cycle, underscoring the state\u2019s importance to Republicans\u2019 hopes of defending their Senate majority.<\/p>\n<p>The investment, shared first with POLITICO, is the first tranche of Senate Leadership Fund\u2019s previously announced plan to spend $71 million in North Carolina this year. It comes as early public polling shows Democrat Roy Cooper, the state\u2019s popular former governor, with a lead over GOP nominee Michael Whatley, the former RNC chair.<em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2026\/07\/29\/congress\/slf-ad-buy-north-carolina-senate-whatley-01014654\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>POLITICO<\/strong><\/a>]<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>$71 million seems excessive, as I continue to ignore Trump&#8217;s Inflation forcing prices up. But it seems Republicans think they can expose weaknesses in Cooper&#8217;s record. The problem with this assertion? The Republicans have spent much of the last few years being absolutely tone-deaf, which is also true of the Democrats. But Cooper has struck me as not so tone-deaf, having won two governor races in this Republican state.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 161px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/huewhite.com\/umb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/oti-roy-cooper.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"151\" height=\"151\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em><strong>On The Issues<\/strong>:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ontheissues.org\/Roy_Cooper.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gov Roy Cooper (D-NC)<\/a>.<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p>Meanwhile, highly respected <em><strong>Fox News Poll<\/strong><\/em> is <a href=\"https:\/\/static.foxnews.com\/foxnews.com\/content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/fox_july-23-27-2026_north-carolina_topline_july-29-release.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">giving<\/a> Cooper a 53% &#8211; 44% lead over Michael Whatley, the Republican nominee for Tillis&#8217; Senate seat. Of particular interest was that Cooper voters are mostly interested in voting for Cooper, but Whatley voters are 46% voting against Cooper. While that doesn&#8217;t directly address the enthusiasm question, it is suggestive of a Democratic advantage in that department. Add in that nearly half of participants were concerned Whatley is too close to the profoundly unpopular President, and Whatley will need to step away from Trump in order to make a move on Cooper.<\/li>\n<li>Another clutch of polls for <a href=\"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2026\/07\/28\/the-2026-senate-campaign-updates-29\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michigan<\/a>: In the Democratic primary, <em><strong>Mitchell Research<\/strong><\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/5f14ae6fb2a20e01e9c6d608\/t\/6a6c144adbc09b31cb070a32\/1785467978381\/MITCHELL+MI+DEM+Primary+Poll+Press+Release+330PM+7-30-26.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has<\/a> Abdul El-Sayed (D) with a 52% &#8211; 38% lead over Rep Haley Stevens, while the defunct Mallory McMorrow (D) is at 4%, trailing Undecideds, who are at 7%. This is a larger lead for El-Sayed than Mitchell&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/f\/?id=0000019e-d731-d4f4-a9fe-d7b975b70000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prior poll<\/a>. However, the margin of error is \u00b14.85 points with n=406 likely primary voters, which is not all that large.\n<p>Meanwhile, in another <a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/5f14ae6fb2a20e01e9c6d608\/t\/6a6d26262f442f133d15fa49\/1785538087149\/MITCHELL+MI+Poll+Nov+Electio+Press+Release+7-31-2026+305PM_A.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">poll<\/a> <em><strong>Mitchell<\/strong><\/em> has Republican nominee and former Rep Rogers in a tie with El-Sayed at 45%, while Rogers leads Stevens by 3 points, 46% &#8211; 43%. Margin of error is \u00b13.77%<em><em><strong>.<\/strong><\/em><\/em><em><strong>Emerson College Polling <\/strong><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/emersoncollegepolling.com\/michigan-2026-poll-abdul-el-sayed-leads-haley-stevens-for-democratic-us-senate-nomination\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has<\/a> El-Sayed with a 54% &#8211; 39% lead, impossible to overcome using only undecideds, so Rep Stevens will have to convince El-Sayed leaners to lean towards herself. I know <em><strong>Emerson<\/strong><\/em> had better ratings than <em><strong>Mitchell<\/strong><\/em>, so this one should worry Rep Stevens.Finally, unknown <em><strong>Tavern Research<\/strong><\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/f\/?id=0000019f-ad31-dd42-ab9f-ed37d29a0000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gives<\/a> El-Sayed a 46% &#8211; 36% lead, again substantial. Polls can be badly wrong, but three, including <em><strong>Emerson<\/strong><\/em>, leaning against Rep Stevens must cast a shadow on her chances.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2026\/07\/28\/the-2026-senate-campaign-updates-29\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas<\/a> <em><strong>GOP<\/strong><\/em> may want to contract with Austin, TX, for a heaping bucket of the blues. The highly respected <em><strong>Fox News Poll<\/strong><\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/static.foxnews.com\/foxnews.com\/content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/fox_july-23-27-2026_texas_topline_july-30-release.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">does not have good news<\/a> for them as Democrat James Talarico (D) leads state AG Ken Paxton (R) 51% &#8211; 48%, with a margin of error of \u00b13 points. Of course, the Democrats should lead by more, and that should tell <em>them<\/em> something, too. Let&#8217;s be frank, it&#8217;s still not likely that Senator Risch (R-ID) will lose, but, like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/minnesota\/news\/kody-clemens-hits-a-walk-off-grand-slam-with-2-outs-in-the-9th-to-send-the-twins-past-the-royals-4-3-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Minnesota Twins<\/strong> game Thursday night<\/a> in which they were beat until they weren&#8217;t, often dominance doesn&#8217;t seem to be beatable until someone grits their teeth and doesn&#8217;t stop and overturns the unbeatable.<\/p>\n<p>Or, for those of us who favor brevity, persistence pays off.<\/p>\n<p>While the odds are still with their opponents, these two independents could herald the beginning of the replacements for the major Parties of today.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE BAD NEWS TSUNAMI Republicans are facing a wave of bad news, and it&#8217;s mostly their leader that has them in a pickle, with a fair seasoning of their own inability to say No! to their little child of a leader.
