- The Pets.com<\/strong><\/em> fiasco, with that ridiculous Super Bowl commercial;<\/li>\n
- The financial irresponsibility of Congress in the sessions of 2001-2006 (107th – 109th) as they plunged America into debt;<\/li>\n
- The revocation of the Glass-Steagall<\/a><\/strong> Act and the consequent concentration of great wealth and great foolishness;<\/li>\n
- The dot-com-bubble<\/a>, and its popping;<\/li>\n
- The pretextual Iraq War<\/a> perpetrated by a GOP <\/strong><\/em>administration that promptly engaged in Abu Ghraib torture sessions and lied about it;<\/li>\n
- Republicans stating that Geo. Bush was God’s pick to be President;<\/li>\n
- The financial excesses of Countrywide Financial<\/strong><\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>and other such institutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The world seemed to be coming apart at its metaphorical seams.<\/p>\n
At the end of all that, and more, what happened? The Great Recession<\/strong><\/a>. A lot of wealth disappeared as speculators lost their shirts and America lost its honor.<\/p>\n

- The laboriously negotiated JCPOA canceled by a jealous GOP<\/strong><\/em>;<\/li>\n
- Russia invades Ukraine without provocation;<\/li>\n
- War drone development;<\/li>\n
- America bombs Iran without provocation;<\/li>\n
- COVID-19<\/strong> reminded us that a plague could reduce us horifically, while nitwits run around screaming conspiracy theories;<\/li>\n
- The American political system is populated by parties that have forgotten how America works;<\/li>\n
- America’s President is suffering from dementia and his own Party won’t admit to it;<\/li>\n
- Ditto the previous President;<\/li>\n
- Back to the current President, he, his staff, and his entire Cabinet appear to be grifters and liars;<\/li>\n
- Republicans earnestly state that Donald J. Trump is God’s pick to be President – once again, God hates the United States;<\/li>\n
- Market capitalizations in excess of $1 trillion observed;<\/li>\n
- LLM AI<\/a> systems of dubious worth has the corporate world galloping about in terror like wildebeests surrounded by lions;<\/li>\n
- A $500 million bill for a month’s worth of use<\/a> of the Claude<\/em> LLM AI is rumored;<\/li>\n
- Cryptocurrency<\/em> threatens to destabilize societies and destroy trust, and are losing value rapidly;<\/li>\n
- And the world is backing away from the dollar as the international currency<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Once again, it seems like madness is running loose. What’s to follow?<\/p>\n
