For those readers who are dissatisfied both major American political parties and rooted for the independents in the 2024 Campaign<\/a>, here’s a bit of good news.<\/p>\n

Dan Osborn, the independent Senate candidate who nearly toppled an incumbent Republican last year, is taking steps to prove his overperformance in deep-red Nebraska was no fluke.<\/p>\n

On Thursday he announced the formation of an exploratory committee, setting him on a potential collision course with one of the wealthiest members of the Senate, Republican Pete Ricketts \u2014 something Osborn said amplified the \u201cillness\u201d of the uber wealthy influencing politics.<\/p>\n

\u201cBillionaires have bought up the country and are carving it up day by day. The economy they\u2019ve built is good for them, bad for us,\u201d Osborn said in a post on X. [Politico<\/strong><\/a>]<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Osborn came up short by less than seven points, which is not as close as the Politico article artlessly implied. Still, Senator Ricketts may be quite vulnerable in a year and a half.<\/p>\n
