Back in March of 2024 it had a value of $68,507\/coin. Maybe he figures inadvertent chanting of &#8220;$TRUMP&#8221; will bring him more money?<\/p>\n<p>And just how much money? <em><strong>Axios<\/strong><\/em> presents a quick analysis:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Why it matters:\u00a0<\/strong>The stunning launch of $TRUMP caught the entire industry off-guard, and speaks to both his personal influence and the ascendancy of cryptocurrency in his administration.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It also speaks to the nature of the crypto industry that someone could have more than $50 billion worth of something that literally did not exist 48 hours previously.<\/li>\n<li>Combined with the value of his social media business and his real estate holdings, it nominally makes Trump one of the\u00a0<a class=\"gtmContentClick\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/real-time-billionaires\/#5126b9ab3d78\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-vars-link-text=\"world's 25 wealthiest people.\" data-vars-click-url=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/real-time-billionaires\/#5126b9ab3d78\" data-vars-content-id=\"b2d0cad7-2cd4-4791-9ea1-7e6518bb40e1\" data-vars-headline=\"Trump meme coin doubles again, stake worth $58 billion or more\" data-vars-event-category=\"story\" data-vars-sub-category=\"story\" data-vars-item=\"in_content_link\">world&#8217;s 25 wealthiest people.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It feels like the world&#8217;s biggest con, doesn&#8217;t it? And cryptocurrency enables it.<\/p>\n<p>Some cryptocurrency advocates may be aware of it. <a href=\"https:\/\/heathercoxrichardson.substack.com\/p\/january-20-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Here&#8217;s Professor Richardson, quoting an anonymous source with no link<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>CNN noted that the release of the meme coin had raised \u201cserious ethics concerns,\u201d but those who participate in the industry were less gentle. One wrote: \u201cTrump\u2019s sh*tcoin release has caused possibly the greatest overnight loss of credibility in presidential history. He made $60B. Great for Trump family, terrible for this country and hopes we had for the Trump presidency.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Not so incidentally, that person, whoever they are, <a href=\"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2024\/10\/16\/dont-sell-at-the-bottom-ctd-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sounds rather like me<\/a> last October in this post concerning the market cap of <em><strong>DJT<\/strong><\/em>, President Trump social media company.
