In Topeka, Kansas, however, a small, virulently anti-LGBT Church is feeling a bit burned. Within days, they discovered\u00a0their church was labeled as a \u201cPokemon Gym\u201d by the geo-tagging app, and\u00a0suddenly Westboro Baptist Church \u2014 associated with protesting funerals and demanding punishments for LGBT citizens \u2014 found themselves home base for the \u201cLove Is Love\u201d Gym. LoveIsLove Gym? Well, it\u2019s what happens when a LGBT Supportive group, and our next door neighbor takes over your virtual space through a\u00a0series of online Pokemon battles that went poorly for the organization (no kidding).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I am not familiar with the entire\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pok\u00e9mon\" target=\"_blank\">Pok\u00e9mon<\/a> phenomenon, but Wikipedia tells me I&#8217;ve been missing something:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Pok\u00e9mon is the second-most successful and lucrative video game-based media franchise in the world, behind only Nintendo&#8217;s <a title=\"Mario (franchise)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mario_(franchise)\"><i>Mario<\/i> franchise<\/a>.<sup id=\"cite_ref-UK_paper_names_top_game_franchises_5-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pok%C3%A9mon#cite_note-UK_paper_names_top_game_franchises-5\">[5]<\/a><\/sup><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And now it&#8217;s a weapon of satire against one of the most iconoclastic churches in the United States. I&#8217;ve never found WBC to be particularly understandable, but I suspect my temperament is far different from that of a WBC member. And this topic label from the WBC site caught my eye:\u00a0<em>Bible Verses About The Hatred Of God<\/em>. Me? I prefer to think for myself, and I would hope God wouldn&#8217;t indulge in the easy hatred of things, but the hard hatred of concepts. If there is a God, he should hate injustice.
