Rep. David Schweikert is one of the most vulnerable, up for reelection\u00a0in a district<\/a>\u00a0that narrowly voted for President Joe Biden in 2020. Schweikert is a\u00a0six-time co-sponsor<\/a> of the radical Life at Conception Act. That\u2019s the legislation that would ban all abortions and does not exclude IVF treatments in defining a \u201cperson\u201d as \u201ceach and every member of the species homo sapiens at all stages of life, including the moment of fertilization.\u201d\u00a0 …<\/p>\n

\u201cI do not support today\u2019s ruling from the AZ Supreme Court,\u201d he\u00a0tweeted<\/a>. \u201cThis issue should be decided by Arizonans, not legislated from the bench. I encourage the state legislature to address this issue immediately.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And all I can think is that, obviously, they are not<\/strong> legislating from the bench, which is an old Republican trigger phrase that he evidently thinks applies whenever he becomes uncomfortable, but rather affirming a law from … pre-Arizona days … concerning pre-humans.<\/p>\n
