Bright spots may be observed at certain points of the parhelic circle. These spots occur most commonly a little outside the\u00a0<a title=\"22\u00b0 halo\" href=\"https:\/\/cloudatlas.wmo.int\/en\/22-halo.html\">22\u00b0\u00a0halo<\/a>\u00a0(<a class=\"inline cboxElement\" title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/cloudatlas.wmo.int\/en\/imgviewer-4948.txt\">parhelia<\/a>, often brilliantly coloured). Occasionally, bright spots (paranthelia) are seen at an azimuthal distance of 120\u00b0 from the Sun and, very rarely, opposite the Sun (anthelion).
