Poor ol’ Erick Erickson has been forced to say something<\/a> that he never should have to say just two days before Election Day:<\/p>\n

He got on stage at a late midterm rally and railed against Ron DeSantis. He blasted DeSantis\u2019s handling of COVID. He claimed DeSantis was part of the Republican establishment. \u201cRon DeSanctimonious,\u201d he called him.<\/p>\n

This reminds me of last year when he went after Kemp in Georgia.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cStacey, would you like to take [Kemp\u2019s] place? It’s OK with me\u2026 might be better than having your existing governor, if you want to know what I think. Might very well be better.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

An irrelevant reminder that summer will come again.<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n

Yes, that’s all about the former President Trump. Narcissist, jealous faux<\/em>-leader of the Republican Party, a shameless man who employs truth and lies as weapons rather than badges of honor and shame – and reportedly still adored by more than half of the Republican Party.<\/p>\n

Erickson has been struggling to keep his listeners voting conservative, despite Trump, DeSantis, all the frantic election deniers, the would-be Whitmer assassins, the January 6th Insurrection, Dobbs<\/em>, the power-hungry hypocritical opportunists, the slippery ethics and toxic culture<\/a> of the Southern Baptist Convention<\/strong><\/em>, the mendacity, all of it.<\/p>\n

An honest pundit would have declared themselves to be an independent, and then subject both sides to critiques<\/strong>. Expose the Democrats’ and Republicans’ autocratic tendencies, compare them, and come to some sort of recommendation.<\/p>\n

Erickson is a propagandist, though, not an honest pundit. He calls people who need abortions baby-killers<\/em>, shaves context from arguments, and in general leads his audience away from any argument that might threaten the Republican position on issues.<\/p>\n
