The criticism, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/ideas\/archive\/2022\/09\/judge-cannon-trump-mar-a-lago-special-master\/671349\/\">some<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/neal_katyal\/status\/1566906085365235712\">of<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/commentisfree\/2022\/sep\/07\/the-trump-special-master-ruling-violates-the-principle-that-no-one-is-above-the-law\">it<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2022\/09\/06\/judge-cannon-mar-a-lago-trump-search-damage-assessment\/\">vituperative<\/a>, has <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NatSecJD\/status\/1567251969676288003\">contained<\/a> a lot of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EdWhelanEPPC\/status\/1567255188980875266\">falsehoods<\/a> and a considerable dollop of conspiracy <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lindyli\/status\/1566872391371919360\">theorizing<\/a>, and it has often ascribed partisan <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NormOrnstein\/status\/1567290324640317446\">motive<\/a> for the ruling.<\/p>\n<p>All of which might under normal circumstances tempt our contrarian hearts to try to defend the opinion.<\/p>\n<p>But Cannon\u2019s opinion actually defies defense.
