The commonly used method of extracting coins involves\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/energy-environment\/wp\/2017\/12\/19\/why-the-bitcoin-craze-is-using-up-so-much-energy\/?itid=lk_inline_manual_16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">huge amounts of computing power<\/a>. While I have not performed any research on the topic, my passive reading has covered that topic for functionalities as diverse as meteorological forecasting and automatic driving. (No, I&#8217;m not looking up those links.
