These advertising signals may take the form of conspicuous\u00a0<a title=\"Animal coloration\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Animal_coloration\">coloration<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Sound\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sound\">sounds<\/a>,\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Odour\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Odour\">odours<\/a>, or other <a title=\"Perception\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Perception\">perceivable<\/a>\u00a0characteristics. Nudibranchs\u2019 bright coloration is intended to indicate unpalatability, and comes from a diet rich in animals armed with cnidocytes, the stinging cells common to sponges, anemone, and coral.
