{"id":34328,"date":"2021-09-22T17:23:20","date_gmt":"2021-09-22T22:23:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/?p=34328"},"modified":"2021-09-22T17:23:20","modified_gmt":"2021-09-22T22:23:20","slug":"tax-and-spend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2021\/09\/22\/tax-and-spend\/","title":{"rendered":"Tax And Spend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today, as I read Steve Benen&#8217;s post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/rachel-maddow-show\/even-republican-moderates-reject-plan-avoid-shutdown-debt-crisis-n1279822\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">concerning the upcoming battle over the debt ceiling;<\/a> recalled Republican behavior during their control of the Federal Government in the periods of 2001-2007 and 2017-2019, in which Federal debt ballooned, their frenzied and mostly successful efforts to stop tax increases, and their failed attempts to destroy Social Security and the <em><strong>ACA<\/strong><\/em>; and finally Erick Erickson&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/ewerickson.substack.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">last few frantic posts<\/a> in which he attempts to condemn the Biden Administration&#8217;s policies while misinterpreting Democrat&#8217;s discussions, and all I could think was this.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tax and spend liberal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yep. The curse that so frequently comes from the Republican mouth.<\/p>\n<p>And you know what: <em>Tax and spend<\/em> is when you plan your spending and then properly tax to cover it. It&#8217;s called <em>Being responsible adults<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>And it&#8217;s been a long, long time since the Republicans acted responsibly.<\/p>\n<p>Get the word out there.
