I enjoyed it, but I didn&#8217;t think it was anything special. <a href=\"https:\/\/davidlat.substack.com\/p\/notice-and-comment-legally-blonde\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Not so with David Lat<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>So is\u00a0<em>Legally Blonde<\/em>\u00a0\u201cmore relevant than ever,\u201d as the Times contends? Does the movie stand the test of time?<\/p>\n<p>My own verdict: yes.\u00a0<em>Legally Blonde<\/em>\u00a0is one of my favorite films, law-related or otherwise, and I owe it a debt of gratitude. Just as some people can say they went to law school because of\u00a0<em>Legally Blonde<\/em>, I can say that the movie influenced my own move from practicing law to writing about it. My first blog\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/underneaththeirrobes.blogs.com\/\">Underneath Their Robes<\/a>, as pink as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3p_NkHeqwIM\">Elle\u2019s resume<\/a>, in which I pretended to be an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/underneaththeirrobes.blogs.com\/about.html\">attractive blonde woman<\/a>\u00a0obsessed with law and fashion\u2014definitely drew inspiration from\u00a0<em>Legally Blonde<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>And even Zach somewhat agrees, conceding that\u00a0<em>Legally Blonde<\/em>\u00a0is solid. When I asked him where\u00a0<em>LB<\/em>\u00a0ranks in the law-film pantheon, he responded \u201cBetter than\u00a0<em>MCV<\/em>, although not on the level of\u00a0<em>The Devil\u2019s Advocate<\/em>\u2014but what is?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A reader of Lat&#8217;s <em><strong>Original Jurisdiction<\/strong><\/em> adds:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Legally Blonde featured prominently at the National Advocacy Center for federal prosecutors during the two-week trial advocacy course I attended as a brand-new AUSA.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I hope <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jurassic_Park_(film)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Jurassic Park<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (1993) hasn&#8217;t had similar influence on paleontologists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recall seeing Legally Blonde (2001) when it first came out, or shortly thereafter.
