Ctd"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A reader writes that <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2016\/03\/17\/belated-movie-reviews-30\/\" target=\"_blank\">Marty<\/a><\/strong><\/em> has appeared in more than one form:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The original Paddy Chayefsky teleplay starring Rod Steiger was much better, IMO: <a class=\"\" dir=\"ltr\" href=\"http:\/\/l.facebook.com\/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fyoutu.be%2F5kL2afMZ9SQ&amp;h=tAQG1-sLe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-vivaldi-spatnav-clickable=\"1\">http:\/\/youtu.be\/5kL2afMZ9SQ<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Marty (1953) Rod Steiger\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5kL2afMZ9SQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Gotta say, that actor to the left of Steiger looks like the guy who played Angie\u00a0from Borgnine&#8217;s <em><strong>Marty<\/strong><\/em>. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Joe_Mantell\" target=\"_blank\">Joe Mantell&#8217;s<\/a> the name. \u00a0And, indeed, it is Mantell, he did the role in both the teleplay and the movie.<\/p>\n<p>I will have to find time to see this.
