Progressives yearning for New Deal 2.0 will notice that Biden did not speak as Franklin Roosevelt did in\u00a0his first inaugural address<\/a>\u00a0about perhaps seeking \u201cbroad Executive power\u201d as great as he would need \u201cif we were in fact invaded by a foreign foe.\u201d Biden\u2019s grown-up respect for institutional proprieties might be infectious, encouraging temperateness among his dissatisfied countrymen,\u00a074 million\u00a0<\/a>of whom voted for four more years of infantilism.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

No doubt he’ll get lots of hate mail about that one. No one appreciates being called infantile – no matter how accurate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
