The Iran Nuclear Deal (JCPOA<\/strong><\/em><\/a>) that was abandoned by President Trump still may have a life, if the Iranian leadership can hold on:<\/p>\n

Iran\u2019s president Wednesday dismissed a bill that would reduce Iran\u2019s compliance with international regulations on its nuclear energy program.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Iranian lawmakers voted for a\u00a0draft bill<\/a>\u00a0that would significantly increase Iran\u2019s nuclear enrichment. The 20% jump would put Iran above the 3.67% enrichment rate Iran agreed to under the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).<\/p>\n

However, on Wednesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said he disagrees with the bill, calling it \u201charmful to the trend of diplomatic activities,\u201d\u00a0state-run\u00a0Press TV<\/a> reported.\u00a0[AL-Monitor<\/strong><\/a>]<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

But its fate may lie in higher hands, as President Rouhani can be overruled by Supreme Leader Khamenei:<\/p>\n

It is unclear what will come of the proposed law. On Wednesday, the speaker of the parliament officially asked Rouhani to implement the legislation. Iranian\u00a0Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has yet to take a position on it,\u00a0Reuters<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Khamenei is quite elderly and, reputedly, ill. What the Biden Administration will be facing when it comes to Iran is hard to decipher. But there may be a good chance to cleaning it up, according to this follow up article:<\/p>\n

Rouhani:\u00a0Biden can just sign the “good piece of paper”<\/em><\/p>\n

Iranian President\u00a0Hassan Rouhani<\/strong>\u00a0this week called for President-elect\u00a0Joe Biden\u00a0<\/strong>to reenter the Iranian nuclear deal by reversing sanctions imposed by the United States\u00a0after the\u00a0Donald Trump<\/strong>\u00a0administration withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the deal\u2019s formal name, in May 2018.<\/p>\n

Rouhani told a\u00a0Cabinet meeting Wednesday<\/a>\u00a0that the next president “can put a good piece of paper on the table and sign it nicely so that we could return to the first place, and it does not take time at all.”<\/p>\n

His message echoes that of his Foreign Minister\u00a0Mohammad Javad Zarif,\u00a0<\/strong>who\u00a0said last month<\/a> that if the incoming Biden administration revokes \u201conly three executive orders\u201d that imposed sanctions on Iran, there is no need for \u201cpreconditions or negotiations.\u201d [AL-Monitor<\/strong><\/a>]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We’ll have to see how Biden and his advisors like this idea. Keep in mind that current Secretary of State doesn’t qualify as an expert, so we can ignore this:<\/p>\n
