The Orlando Sentinel<\/strong><\/em> expresses grief<\/a> at its mistaken endorsement:<\/p>\n

We apologize to our readers for endorsing Michael Waltz in the 2020 general election for Congress.<\/p>\n

We had no idea, had no way of knowing at the time, that Waltz was not committed to democracy.<\/p>\n

During our endorsement interview with the incumbent congressman, we didn\u2019t think to ask, \u201cWould you support an effort to throw out the votes of tens of millions of Americans in four states in order to overturn a presidential election and hand it to the person who lost, Donald Trump?\u201d<\/p>\n

Our bad.<\/p>\n

Trust us, some variation of that question will be asked of anyone running for Congress in the future, particularly Republican candidates whose party is attempting to upend the way we choose a president.<\/p>\n

Waltz, to our horror, was one of the nine Florida Republican members of Congress who, on Thursday,\u00a0signed up<\/a>\u00a0to support a lawsuit brought by Texas in the U.S. Supreme Court that\u2019s attempting to throw out the election results in Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania \u2014 all states where Donald Trump lost to Joe Biden.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Sentinel<\/strong><\/em> understands that its freedoms rest on the United States remaining a land of laws, not a land run at the whim of some dude in a big building.<\/p>\n

We learned that’s the wrong way to run a country back in the 18th century, didn’t we?<\/p>\n

Without that foundation, the Sentinel’s<\/strong><\/em> soul would soon be swallowed up in butt kissing and paying bribes.<\/p>\n

I hope someone makes it their business to track down all of the media endorsements of the fools in Congress that are signing on to this insane lawsuit, and asking those endorsers how they feel about their endorsements now.<\/p>\n

It’s one way to differentiate the honest media source from the partisan hacks who shouldn’t be trusted.<\/p>\n

NOTE: Representative Emmer (R-MN), a leader in the House, didn’t receive the StarTribune<\/strong><\/em> endorsement this year. He did sign on to the insane lawsuit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
