Here&#8217;s those two on Biden:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cJoe Biden thinks he\u2019s the heir apparent to Obama\u2019s failed legacy, but let\u2019s be frank \u2014 Obama can\u2019t save his anemic presidential campaign,\u201d said Trump campaign spokesman Ken Farnaso. \u201cMake no mistake, since 2015, the political class and their partners in the media have consistently underestimated the connection between President Trump and everyday American families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sam Nunberg, a former adviser to Trump, said that highlighting Obama could remind some voters why they backed Trump in the first place. \u201cHe is somebody who is not viewed as a competent president vis-a-vis the economy, the military and foreign policy,\u201d Nunberg said of Obama. \u201cThat said, it would be better if he was not on the scene. .\u2009.\u2009. Trump\u2019s reelection campaign was always going to have to have the most popular politician campaigning against him.\u201d<em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/biden-and-obama-troll-trump-in-video-that-marks-a-new-pandemic-campaign-tactic\/2020\/07\/22\/a4b75a74-cc17-11ea-91f1-28aca4d833a0_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>WaPo<\/strong><\/a>]<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Pushing personal opinion as fact when it comes to the other party is one thing. Pushing, again, personal opinion as fact <strong>when it comes to your own party<\/strong> is quite a different thing:<\/p>\n<div>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"font--body font-copy gray-darkest ma-0 pb-md \">Does that mean the Lincoln Project favors a Democratic takeover of the Senate? Yup. But that doesn\u2019t mean, as Trumpites blare, that it\u2019s gone over to the far left. Its members have stayed on the center right while the Republican Party has been taken over, as [Republican consultant Stuart Stevens] writes, by \u201cparanoids, kooks, know-nothings, and bigots.\u201d Even staunch conservatives such as former national security adviser <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/06\/18\/us\/politics\/bolton-book-congress.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John Bolton<\/a>\u00a0and Rep.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/powerpost\/house-conservatives-challenge-rep-liz-cheney-question-her-loyalty-to-trump\/2020\/07\/21\/4a4c115c-cb71-11ea-b0e3-d55bda07d66a_story.html?itid=lk_inline_manual_21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Liz Cheney<\/a> (R-Wyo.) are being excommunicated by the Trumpkins.\u00a0<em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2020\/07\/22\/lincoln-project-is-trying-save-republican-party-itself\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>WaPo<\/strong><\/a>]<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It doesn&#8217;t hurt, for me at least, that the <em>paranoids, kooks, know-nothings, and bigots<\/em> remark is congruent with what I and many others have been observing about the party, at least since the days of Gingrich, and I suspect Reagan&#8217;s days as well. The Republicans have been quite shrill for a long time. This is a consequence of the magical thinking rampant in the party.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, the Democrats must be careful not to become like the Republicans. Be raucous in your internal disagreements, my Dems, and walk away if a really wrong candidate has been nominated; only in this year should you ignore this advice.
