{"id":29705,"date":"2020-07-19T18:58:53","date_gmt":"2020-07-19T23:58:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/?p=29705"},"modified":"2020-07-19T18:58:53","modified_gmt":"2020-07-19T23:58:53","slug":"decision-of-the-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2020\/07\/19\/decision-of-the-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Decision Of The Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>SCOTUS<\/strong><\/em> declined to hear this appeal:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Al Johnson\u2019s Swedish restaurant has been a popular attraction for anyone traveling to Door County for its grass-covered roof and its herd of grass trimmers.<\/p>\n<p>But a lawsuit by a New York attorney against Al Johnson\u2019s sought to cancel the \u201cGoats on a roof of grass\u201d trademark owned by the well-known restaurant in Sister Bay.<\/p>\n<p>That years-long petition has been denied by the U.S. Supreme Court. The court\u2019s decision not to hear the case has ended the debate.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit has been trying to strip the restaurant of its trademark since 2011. Attorney Todd Bank claimed it was demeaning to goats.\u00a0<em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbc15.com\/2020\/07\/18\/us-supreme-court-sides-with-goats-on-al-johnsons-roof\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WMTV<\/a>]<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Demeaning to goats? Or was there something more going on here? I&#8217;m not sure I want to know.
