Remember when the Cathedral of Notre Dame was badly damaged by fire all those decades ago?<\/p>\n

The spire of Notre Dame cathedral, which was destroyed in a fire last April [actually, April 2019], will be restored according to the original Gothic design.<\/p>\n

French President Emmanuel Macron announced the decision, putting an end to speculation that the spire would be rebuilt in a modern style.\u00a0[MSN<\/strong><\/a>]<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Which was a pity. I was quite taken by this proposal to replace the spire with a swimming pool, as reported by Architectural Digest<\/strong><\/em><\/a>\u00a0back in 2019.<\/p>\n
