{"id":28968,"date":"2020-06-09T12:50:31","date_gmt":"2020-06-09T17:50:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/?p=28968"},"modified":"2020-06-09T12:50:31","modified_gmt":"2020-06-09T17:50:31","slug":"how-much-influence-does-this-president-have","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2020\/06\/09\/how-much-influence-does-this-president-have\/","title":{"rendered":"How Much Influence Does This President Have?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/coronavirus-cdc-bleach-09fd3abd-f8ae-4f2c-a67a-5b2d3cc0ab2b.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">From<\/a> <em><strong>Axios<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The CDC\u00a0<a class=\"gtm-content-click\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/volumes\/69\/wr\/pdfs\/mm6923e2-H.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-vars-link-text=\"released data on Friday\" data-vars-click-url=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/mmwr\/volumes\/69\/wr\/pdfs\/mm6923e2-H.pdf\" data-vars-content-id=\"09fd3abd-f8ae-4f2c-a67a-5b2d3cc0ab2b\" data-vars-headline=\"CDC: Some people are drinking and inhaling cleaning products in attempt to fight coronavirus\" data-vars-event-category=\"story\" data-vars-sub-category=\"story\" data-vars-item=\"in_content_link\">released data on Friday<\/a>\u00a0from a survey commissioned to understand why more people have been calling poison control centers during the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What they found:\u00a0<\/strong>Roughly 200 adults who responded to the survey in May said they intentionally inhaled disinfectants, washed food with bleach, or applied household cleaning products to bare skin to combat the virus \u2014 all of which are dangerous.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fewer respondents reported drinking or gargling household cleaners and soapy water to fight COVID-19, or inhaling bleach and other cleaners.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>No matter how you slice it, 200 is a very small number against the citizenry or the electorate sliced up by political leaning or not. While it&#8217;s certainly a tragedy that the President managed to influence <strong>anyone<\/strong> with his absurd and dangerous suggestion, statistically speaking, for a population of roughly 280 million adults, this is unsurprising only in that it wasn&#8217;t higher.<\/p>\n<p>This speaks to the <em>diminishing influence<\/em> of this President. Even those who are still inclined to vote for him are applying critical analysis to what comes out of his mouth and not doing what he&#8217;s doing when it&#8217;s obvious.
