President Trump cast doubt Thursday on New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo\u2019s assertion that his state, which has become the epicenter for the\u00a0coronavirus<\/a>\u00a0outbreak in the United States, will need 30,000 ventilators to properly care for the influx of patients anticipated to flood hospitals in coming weeks.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a feeling that a lot of the numbers that are being said in some areas are just bigger than they\u2019re going to be,\u201d Trump\u00a0told<\/a> Fox News host Sean Hannity in a phone interview. \u201cI don\u2019t believe you need 40,000 or 30,000 ventilators. You know, you go into major hospitals sometimes they\u2019ll have two ventilators, and now all of a sudden they\u2019re saying, \u2018Can we order 30,000 ventilators?\u2019\u201d\u00a0[WaPo<\/strong><\/a>]<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
