{"id":26787,"date":"2019-11-24T09:47:18","date_gmt":"2019-11-24T15:47:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/?p=26787"},"modified":"2022-05-13T17:41:42","modified_gmt":"2022-05-13T22:41:42","slug":"toxic-team-politics-ctd-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2019\/11\/24\/toxic-team-politics-ctd-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Toxic Team Politics, Ctd"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A couple of years ago and more I spent some time dissecting the idea that <a href=\"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2017\/07\/12\/toxic-team-politics-ctd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">absolute loyalty to Party<\/a>, i.e., the concept of <em>team politics<\/em>, is actually one of the worst rules a party can have &#8211; at least for the nation in which it operates<a href=\"#1\"><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/a>. This guy, Beau, understands this fundamental error in <em>team politics, <\/em>as he blames the Republican failure in Louisiana on what he calls loyal Republicans <em>who still have morals<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Let&#039;s talk about party loyalty and what happened in Louisiana....\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Q524bP2gMQg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Now, it&#8217;s true that Beau ignores factors such as Edwards being a very conservative Democrat, and that the Louisiana black community turnout has traditionally been heavier in runoffs than in the jungle primary.<\/p>\n<p>But Beau is, in my opinion, incontrovertibly right in his analysis of how Trump affects, and should affect, &#8220;loyal Republicans.&#8221; If you haven&#8217;t clicked on that <em><strong>YouTube<\/strong><\/em> above &#8211; especially if you consider yourself a loyal Republican<del>s<\/del> &#8211; do yourself a favor and do so. It&#8217;s just shy of five minutes long, but Beau is well-spoken and speaks from the heart.
