When a reporter asked the president yesterday afternoon where things stand with Iran, the president\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefings-statements\/remarks-president-trump-marine-one-departure-43\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">replied<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe have no indication that anything has happened or will happen. But if it does, it will be met, obviously, with great force. We\u2019ll have no choice.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The key part of that answer, of course, was the presidential assertion that U.S. officials \u201chave no indication that anything has happened or will happen.\u201d That was a far cry from Lindsey Graham\u2019s assertion, made just hours earlier after hearing from John Bolton, \u201cIt is clear that over the last several weeks Iran has attacked pipelines and ships of other nations and created threat streams against American interests in Iraq.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The only real conclusion to draw is that President Trump is a demented old man who can&#8217;t keep up a good lie.
