He broke the story in 2014 that a mid-engine Corvette was in production.<\/p>\n<p>Motor Trend editors keep a database of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Business\/sports-car-suv\/story?id=54985522\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sports car<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"hhttps:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Business\/supercars-seductive-growl-engineers-spill-secrets\/story?id=60037661\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">supercar<\/a>\u00a0lap times they record at various race tracks around the world. Over the years, the only cars to beat the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Business\/120k-zr1-sports-car-gamechanger-corvette\/story?id=54647698\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">755 horsepower ZR1<\/a>, the fastest and most powerful Corvette ever built, were its mid-engine rivals. <em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Business\/decades-delay-inside-gm-mythic-mid-engine-corvette\/story?id=62789071\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>ABC News<\/strong><\/a>]<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Which is all more or less fascinating, except that this isn&#8217;t really so good for the climate, now is it? Granted, it&#8217;s a low production run, but it really seems to me <em><strong>General Motors<\/strong><\/em> has missed a bet on becoming a leading car manufacturer by doing something truly innovative with their car engine &#8211; making it climate friendly.<\/p>\n<p>And we might have even bit on <a href=\"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2015\/07\/25\/the-next-electric-car\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">this idea<\/a>.
