So does my Arts Editor. After reading this <em><strong>National Geographic<\/strong><\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgeographic.com\/science\/2019\/02\/magnetic-north-update-navigation-maps\/??utm_medium=NLC&amp;utm_source=NSNS&amp;utm_campaign=2019-0206-GLOBAL-NSDAY&amp;utm_content=NSDAY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">article<\/a> on the North Poles (there&#8217;s three of them), I found that <em><strong>Wikipedia<\/strong><\/em> has a lovely time series map of the wanderings of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/North_Magnetic_Pole\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Magnetic North Pole.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/huewhite.com\/umb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/330px-Magnetic_North_Pole_Positions_2015.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24285\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/huewhite.com\/umb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/330px-Magnetic_North_Pole_Positions_2015.jpg?resize=330%2C493&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"330\" height=\"493\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/huewhite.com\/umb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/330px-Magnetic_North_Pole_Positions_2015.jpg?w=330&amp;ssl=1 330w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/huewhite.com\/umb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/330px-Magnetic_North_Pole_Positions_2015.jpg?resize=201%2C300&amp;ssl=1 201w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/huewhite.com\/umb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/330px-Magnetic_North_Pole_Positions_2015.jpg?resize=100%2C150&amp;ssl=1 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 330px) 100vw, 330px\" \/><\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This apparently has to do with irregularities in that globe of liquid iron forming the core of our planet. These movements have implications for our navigational aids, of course. One thing not mentioned, but I wonder about, is that the changes in the magnetic field will also have an impact on how cosmic rays impact us: strength and frequencies.<\/p>\n<p>Keep that inner globe spinning.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/South_Magnetic_Pole\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>South Magnetic Pole<\/strong><\/a>, of course.
