{"id":18386,"date":"2018-11-22T17:17:14","date_gmt":"2018-11-22T23:17:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/?p=18386"},"modified":"2018-11-22T17:17:14","modified_gmt":"2018-11-22T23:17:14","slug":"their-local-carbon-forecast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2018\/11\/22\/their-local-carbon-forecast\/","title":{"rendered":"Their Local Carbon Forecast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>National Grid, Environmental Defense Fund Europe, Oxford\/CSci<\/strong><\/em>, and the <strong><em>WWF<\/em><\/strong> have developed a forecast tool for the carbon intensity of the current usage of electricity in the various regions of Great Britain:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">National Grid, in partnership with Environmental Defense Fund Europe, University of Oxford Department of Computer Science and WWF, have developed the world&#8217;s first Carbon Intensity forecast with a regional breakdown.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The Carbon Intensity API uses state-of-the-art Machine Learning and sophisticated power system modelling to forecast the carbon intensity and generation mix 96+ hours ahead for each region in Great Britain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Our OpenAPI allows consumers and smart devices to schedule and minimise CO2 emissions at a local level.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>More <a href=\"http:\/\/carbonintensity.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.
