{"id":15263,"date":"2018-04-12T08:02:53","date_gmt":"2018-04-12T13:02:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/?p=15263"},"modified":"2018-04-12T08:02:53","modified_gmt":"2018-04-12T13:02:53","slug":"this-could-be-an-expensive-mistake-for-someone-ctd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2018\/04\/12\/this-could-be-an-expensive-mistake-for-someone-ctd\/","title":{"rendered":"This Could Be An Expensive Mistake For Someone, Ctd"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following up on the <a href=\"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2017\/08\/24\/11207\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nevada State Senator recall effort, plural<\/a>, <em><strong>The Nevada Independent<\/strong><\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/thenevadaindependent.com\/article\/state-recalls-targeting-democratic-state-senators-dont-have-enough-signatures-to-qualify-for-ballot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reports<\/a> that the Nevada <em><strong>GOP<\/strong><\/em> has failed in its attempt to qualify for a special election to recall two Democratic State Senators:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Nevada election officials say that signatures for the two recall campaigns targeting Democratic state senators have failed to trigger a special election, though an appeal is possible.<\/p>\n<p>According to correspondence sent to District Court Judge Jerry Wiese, the secretary of state and Clark County registrar of voters have determined that signatures submitted to recall state Sens. Joyce Woodhouse and <span class=\"tooltip-target\" data-tippy=\"\" data-tooltip-match=\"Nicole Cannizzaro\">Nicole Cannizzaro<\/span> do not meet the threshold necessary to trigger a special election.<\/p>\n<p>The full review also indicates that even if a higher court reverses Wiese\u2019s earlier decision to count a batch of signature removal requests turned in after the recall petition was submitted, the number of valid signatures would still be too low to qualify for a special recall election.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I doubt the Nevada <em><strong>GOP<\/strong><\/em> has learned anything from the experience.
