The underlying notion is that different jurisdictions will reciprocate each other\u2019s judgments out of deference, mutuality, and respect.<\/p>\n<p>In Constitutional law, the Comity Clause refers to Article IV, \u00a7 2, Clause 2 of the U.S. Constitution (also known as the Privileges and Immunities Clause), which ensures that \u201cThe Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.\u201d<i>\u00a0[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/wex\/comity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/wex\/comity&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1519948873777000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFrbxqc3TD1n7nbazoaSaO84cLSDw\"><b>Wex Legal Dictionary<\/b><\/a>]<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Noted in &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lawfareblog.com\/analysis-microsoft-ireland-supreme-court-oral-argument\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=https:\/\/www.lawfareblog.com\/analysis-microsoft-ireland-supreme-court-oral-argument&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1519948873777000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHXAK3dgQO8Uc1f2M51M61NnI7hQA\"><i>Analysis of Microsoft-Ireland Supreme Court Oral Argument<\/i><\/a>,&#8221; Andrew Keane Woods,\u00a0<i><b>Lawfare<\/b><\/i>:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"gmail_quote\"><p>I would be surprised if the justices divide along ideological lines. \u00a0Justice Sonia Sotomayor seemed most persuaded by Microsoft\u2019s position, and Justice Neil Gorsuch expressed some sympathy too\u2014suggesting that the government\u2019s position was to \u201cignore\u201d the extraterritorial aspects of the case.
