[Tara Golshan] One idea @<\/s>RepMarkMeadows<\/b><\/a> floats on gun control: tax credits for volunteers \u2014 like retired law enforcement \u2014 who want to offer security for schools.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This proposal gives something to both sides: It leaves teachers unarmed, just as liberals requested, while also giving a targeted tax cut to any patriotic American with a gun, too much free time, and a longing to legally pump bullets into another human being \u2014 or, in conservative parlance, to \u201ca well-regulated militia.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well, my goodness. You’d think they’d eventually make sense.<\/p>\n

But no. I wonder if they’ve realized that these “patriotic Americans” don’t have to be patriotic<\/em>. They could easily just be one – or even more – sickos desperate to shoot themselves some kids.<\/p>\n

The fact that the perpetrator of the Parkland massacre was giving off signals that he was dangerous doesn’t mean everyone else will.<\/p>\n

If this proposal somehow goes through, I foresee a lot more massacres in our future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
