In the <a title=\"Plate tectonics\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Plate_tectonics\">movement of the crust<\/a>, a massif tends to retain its internal structure while being displaced as a whole. Glaciers inside its crater weren\u2019t discovered until after the second world war. Since then, the snow line has risen and sheep herders have abandoned the mountain\u2019s waterlogged environs.
