For all that the GOP wants to deny the existence of climate change, it appears SCOTUS<\/strong><\/em> doesn’t agree, as it refuses to hear a case from Alaska concerning the protection of animals thought to soon<\/em> be imperiled by climate change. From<\/a> Anchorage Daily News<\/b><\/i>:<\/p>\n

Alaska’s largest ice seal will keep federal protections despite concerns they’re based on climate change forecasts a century in the future.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n

The U.S. Supreme Court\u00a0on Monday<\/span><\/span> rejected requests to review protections for bearded seals that live in the Bering, Chukchi and Beaufort seas.<\/p>\n

The nation’s highest court denied an appeal by the oil industry and other groups including the state of Alaska to review a 2016 Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision<\/a> that reinstated protections for the seals.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It appears SCOTUS <\/b><\/i>is satisfied that climate change is real and needs to be taken into account when evaluating the danger in which a species lives of extinction.<\/p>\n

Or they want a better case for deliberation.<\/p>\n
