Antediluvian<\/i>:<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Antediluvian<\/b>\u00a0(alternatively\u00a0Pre-Diluvian<\/b>\u00a0or\u00a0Pre-Flood<\/b>, or even\u00a0Tertiary<\/a><\/b>) period (meaning “before the deluge”) is the time period referred to in the\u00a0Bible<\/a>\u00a0between the\u00a0fall of humans<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Noachian Deluge<\/a>\u00a0(the Genesis Flood) in the\u00a0biblical cosmology<\/a>. The narrative takes up chapters 1\u20136 (excluding the flood narrative) of the\u00a0Book of Genesis<\/a>. The term found its way into early\u00a0geology<\/a>\u00a0and lingered in science until the late\u00a0Victorian era<\/a>.
