{"id":11440,"date":"2017-09-02T14:27:43","date_gmt":"2017-09-02T19:27:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/?p=11440"},"modified":"2017-09-02T19:52:28","modified_gmt":"2017-09-03T00:52:28","slug":"and-this-guy-got-a-diploma-from-high-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/huewhite.com\/umb\/2017\/09\/02\/and-this-guy-got-a-diploma-from-high-school\/","title":{"rendered":"And This Guy Got A Diploma From High School?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WCWatch on <em><strong>The Daily Kos<\/strong><\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/stories\/2017\/8\/31\/1694892\/-Mark-Levin-just-made-possibly-the-most-hilarious-climate-denial-argument-ever?detail=emaildkre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">relays<\/a> a recording of climate change denier Mark Levin&#8217;s idea of an argument against climate change:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>On his August 30th broadcast,\u00a0first he gravely listed\u00a0scientists from history: \u201cAristotle, Archimedes, Galileo, Tesla, Faraday, Newton, Pasteur, Einstein and Edison,\u201d while managing to\u00a0mispronounce\u00a0\u201cArchimedes\u201d as if his first name were \u201cArchie,\u201d which is pretty funny in itself.<\/p>\n<p>Then Levin popped\u00a0his serious question: \u201cWhat do they all have in common?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If that sounds more like the wind up to a joke (nine\u00a0scientists walk into a bar, and the bartender says&#8230;), well, yeah. Because here\u2019s Levin\u2019s actual answer:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot a single one of them ever wrote about man-made climate change.\u201d Levin repeats this several times, as if he\u2019s fathoming\u00a0a\u00a0major revelation.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the recording:<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mark Levin says climate change cannot exist because &quot;Archie Meedeez&quot; never mentioned it\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lcNZ2LXE4kg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s like the most wretched elaborate joke ever. A demonstration of how not to assemble an argument. It&#8217;s the worst <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Argument_from_authority\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>appeal to authority<\/em><\/a> I think I&#8217;ve ever heard.<\/p>\n<p>And yet, it could be extremely useful. Here&#8217;s my idea.
